Benwood Mt. Lebanon

Benwood Mt. Lebanon Church, 945 E. Co. Rd. 1200 N, Brazil. Sunday school starts at 9:30 a.m. The Church Service begins at 10:30 a.m. Adult Bible Study Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Coming Soon…30th Annual Charles Hapenny Golf Scramble, Saturday, August 6.

The sermon Sunday, May 29 was from John 15:13, “There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friend”. Laying down one’s life, means abiding in the love of Christ in a consistent, moment by moment action. Laying down one’s life is an attitude as well as an action. Also, the use of the word friends is important, as Jesus see the disciples and all believers as His friends. Believers are those who are obedient to His commands. Christians need to “abide” in Him, which includes emulating His love. Will you be one of Jesus’ closest friends? Take stock of your life, and take action to be more like Christ in your daily life!

Summer is here and we are excited to have Gary Johnson with us this week. Gary is Executive Director of E2 Effective Elders (https://www.e2elders.org) which is one of the missions we support here at Berea. He will be sharing with us from Acts 6 as the early church is challenged with very real problems as the church began to grown. These issues could have stopped the spread of the Gospel just as it was beginning! We cannot wait to share this challenging message with you. Gary is a retired past who spent more than 30 years at The Creek on the southside of Indianapolis. He is passionate about the Word of God and he deeply loves the church. Gary is a part of an organization that seeks to help churches become a beacon of hope in their community.
