Brazil man awaits formal court proceedings in jail

A Brazil man faces felony allegations of dealing and possession of methamphetamine.

Troy G. Johnson, 39, was arrested on a warrant issued by Clay Circuit Court.

According to records, Johnson was taken into custody by Brazil Police Department on Friday, May 20, 2022, and booked into the Clay County Justice Center on a $50,000 cash bond to await formal court proceedings.

Johnson appeared in court on May 23 for a felony-level 2 charge of Dealing Methamphetamine delivery of more than 10 grams and a felony-level 4 charge of Possession of Methamphetamine (an amount of between 10 and 28 grams).

Johnson was appointed counsel, and a jury trial in late August during the initial hearing.

Johnson remains incarcerated at the Clay County Justice Center.
