Eddie’s makes delicious cheeseburgers, dripping with cheese and covered with pickles and onions. They are the best tiny little burgers in the world.

On Grand Opening day Monday, Eddie’s was packed, with a line of people against the wall and taking up every stool at the counter, at about 11:30 a.m.

For the soft opening, they took 1,800 orders on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, averaging out at 600 orders a day.

That is double the 300 customers expected by Brad Wallace, who has leased the operation for his daughter, Brylee Wallace, who is running it.

Wallace’s uncle, Ron Moreland, was sitting on a bench outside Eddie’s on Monday, enjoying the hot weather.

Moreland spends six months in Florida and six months back in Brazil, the Hoosier city.

He had just spent a day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as a Yellow Shirt, working safety patrol.

Moreland said the burgers are “good,” with a big smile on his face.

The pies are also excellent, Brad Wallace said.

They are from Triple M Bakery, owned by Reva Eslick. They rotate pies by flavor regularly, Wallace said, and they had lemon meringue on Monday.

For anyone who plans to visit, remember the current wait time is averaging 15 to 20 minutes. The best time to get a seat and a shorter wait is 8-10 a.m. At the same time, the phone system is currently down, so just stop in if you want Carry-Out this week.

It’s packed wall-to-wall from 6-8a.m., just like at lunchtime, so plan in some extra time if you’re stopping in for breakfast.

They expect a ribbon-cutting with the Chamber of Commerce soon.
