DLC Media, WAMB radio announce plans to livestream Northview games

On Tuesday night, DLC Media and WAMB radio announced that the Brazil-based company would be bringing a new look to its Northview sports coverage for the upcoming 2022-23 school year.

WAMB radio will continue to broadcast games over the airwaves on AM 1130, 106.9 FM in Brazil, and 99.5 FM in Terre Haute just as it has over the last several years. However, on top of that, DLC Media will now be offering fans a different option to consume the games with a live-streaming platform, which will be voiced by the same broadcasters the local community as grown accustomed to hearing through their speakers.

For the last year, DLC Media had been getting things together to put this plan in motion, which included purchasing a camera, tripod, Mac book laptop and a mixer audioboard among other equipment that will be needed to create the best possible product for their listeners – and now viewers.

With the new equipment, the company will be able to have graphics such as a scoreboard, instant replay, logos and highlights from games that will be shared on the company’s social media accounts across all platforms, said DLC Media Sports Director/Announcer Corey Clark.

Clark said the company plans to broadcast up to 50 Northview games throughout the school year beginning with the high school football season opener against Terre Haute North on August 19, marking the start of what they anticipate being an exciting time for Northview fans. The livestreams can be found on the official WAMB website.

“We’re happy to make this investment in promoting our local athletic teams,” said DLC Media owner Dave Crooks.

“As WAMB enters our sixth year covering Northview athletics, I look forward to the challenge,” said Clark. “I have been like a kid on Christmas morning testing out all our new equipment. I am excited to broadcast the games on the radio as well as be the announcer and producer of the live video streams.

“This is an opportunity to highlight all the awesome athletes Northview has on a video platform instead of just the audio side,” Clark continued. “The graphics will be great to have and has an opportunity to evolve in radio. I look forward to this and I hope this community is just as excited to be able to watch the Knights.”
