Grateful for the Clay County Community Foundation

Wednesday, September 21, 2022

The Clay County 4-H Fair is an event that many children (and adults!) look forward to all year. It is a time to display the projects that 4-H members, mini 4-Hers, and open class exhibitors have put considerable effort into, as well as a time to get together with old friends and meet new ones as we encourage the youth of our community to learn by doing and to make the best better.

This year, one of the air conditioning units used to cool the exhibit hall malfunctioned and needed to be repaired the day before the first round of exhibits were due to be submitted for judging.

The Clay County 4-H Council is extremely grateful to the Clay County Community Foundation for their expedited review and funding of an Urgent Need grant request that allowed the fair to proceed as planned.

The exhibit hall continued to be a place that allowed fair visitors to cool off as they looked at various projects, including decorated cakes and cupcakes, craft projects, farm scenes, photography, food items, crops, assorted poster projects, and flowers.

Additionally, it was the venue for the Benefit for the Barns meal and auction at the conclusion of the fair to raise money for 4-H members and future projects at the fairgrounds. We are so proud to be part of this community, and we are grateful to the Clay County Community Foundation for supporting our youth.

Sincerely,

The Clay County 4-H Council
