Mitchell James Hyatt, 55, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at his home in Center Point. He was born on March 29, 1967, in Clay County to Jimmie and Mary (Love) Hyatt. Mitch graduated from Clay City High School in the class of 1985. He worked for Great Dane for over 15 years before starting his own business, Hyatt & Sons Construction. Mitch was a self-taught home builder and built houses for over 25 years. He was intelligent, hard-working, and a kind-hearted man who had never met a stranger. In his free time, Mitch enjoyed taking care of his farm, watching westerns, listening to music, and telling stories. He was awarded the Make A Difference Award by Channel 10 News in 2009. Mitch was also the commissioner for the Clay Youth Football League, and coached for over 10 years.

Above all else, Mitch was a proud father and loved supporting his children in all of their school activities.

Mitch is preceded in death by his son, Devin Hyatt; father, Jimmie Hyatt; and step-father, Bill Sneddon. Survivors include his children; Damon, Dylan and Jinna Hyatt all of Brazil; mother, Mary Hyatt of Center Point; sisters, Melanie (Bob) Walker of Carmel, Susan (Dave) Hyatt Dumon of Tucson, Arizona; brother, Thomas (Brandy) Hyatt of Martinsville; several special nieces and nephews; his beloved dog, Ruby, and horse, Raven.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 11, 2022 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil. The family will accept friends for visitation from 12 Noon until the time of service.
