Kirk A. Fischer, 61, passed away March 19, 2023 at his residence. Kirk was born to Joe and Patricia (Cafouras) Fischer on December 11, 1961.

Kirk graduated from Clay City High School in 1980, during high school he was very athletic and played many sports. After graduation, Kirk began working for the family farm where he continued to work for the rest of his life. In his younger years he coached youth baseball. In his free time, he enjoyed watching basketball and football games.

Kirk was very selfless and always put others first to be sure they were taken care of. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Whenever family or friends would go on vacation, Kirk loved driving them to and from the airport for their flights. Although he didn’t have children of his own, he had a very close relationship with his nieces and nephew and always treated them like his own. He had several close friends that he enjoyed spending time with. Kirk and his brothers spent a lot of time working with Steve Seymour and Jimmy Curtis who became like brothers.

Kirk is preceded in death by his father, Joe Fischer, as well as both his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Kirk is survived by his mother, Patricia J. Fischer, two brothers, Karl Fischer (Rachel), and Kelly Fischer (Charity), nieces and nephew, Kelsie Travis (Tyler), Tayler Fischer, Jarrett Fischer, and Devon Fischer, and one great nephew, Tate Travis.

A visitation will be held Saturday, March 25th from 11 – 1 at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 301 East 8th Street in Clay City. A funeral service will begin at 1 P.M. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
