When it comes to college decisions, it can be difficult deciding whether to stay close to home or set off on a new adventure. Northview senior Anna Keith appreciates a mix of both.

Keith plans to attend Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. She appreciates the closeness and familiarity of the college with it still being a new experience. Anna plans on majoring in biology or biology medicine.

“Biology opens up a lot of different career choices, so I can go into a lot of different branches.”

Keith took a biology class at Northview, noting that it helped her decide what to major in.

“I've always been attracted to science... it just kind of clicked. It's something I'm good at and that I enjoy doing.”

Anna manages the boys' wrestling team, competes on the girls' tennis team, and participates in the Spanish club. Anna explains that she enjoys speaking Spanish and is proud of herself for learning it.

“[Learning Spanish] lets me talk to other people... I just like being able to communicate to people.”

Anna explains that her favorite part of high school has been finding herself and growing as a person.

“I used to be a super shy, super intimidated person, but I've kind of grown up... I'm pretty confident. I've gotten [more comfortable with myself].”

Outside of school, Keith enjoys volunteering at Heritage Animal Hospital and hiking at Red River Gorge in Kentucky.

“You just get away from all the noisiness... you're in nature, your mind can relax.”

At some point in her life, Anna would like to travel to Italy. She explains that she wants to sit at a cafe and take in and appreciate the culture.

Submitted - Anna Keith.

“I've always been a very curious person... I just want to go have new experiences, and [going to Italy] is something I've always wanted to do.”
