SUBMITTED - HARRIS.

Hannah Harris is a senior at Clay City. She plays softball, both for Clay City and for a travel team. Hannah has had a very successful softball career with her high school team, making it to semi-state the past three years as well as competing in the state softball game during her freshman year.

Softball season is Hannah's favorite part of high school. She explains that she enjoys competing with the team in the supportive and engaging atmosphere.

“I love it because we always have a huge crowd (half of it is my family), and we just enjoy playing with each other and always make it far in post-season.”

One of Hannah's favorite memories of high school is from the semi-state softball game in her freshman year. It was her first time batting during the game, and she had already hit two foul balls.

“I was scared to death, and then I hit a home run. Before the game, my dad told me that I wouldn't be able to get a home run because of how far the fence was, but I did.”

Harris explains that she looks up to her parents, stating that they have pushed her to become the person she is now.

Hannah is continuing her softball career at Danville Area Community College. There, she plans to get a business degree.

“I would love to open up my own business someday.”

She explains that her dream is to open her business[es] in a building in downtown Clay City.

Harris is learning more about owning a business as an intern at Aames Title in Brazil. She participates in Clay City's internship program and spends part of her school day at the title company.

“I worked there over the summer for the last two years, and I love the employees there.”
