Addison Bowman is a senior at Northview. She has participated on the varsity volleyball team for the past four years, and was on the tennis team for the last three years.

One of Bowman's favorite memories from her volleyball career is winning sectionals with her team.

“The bus ride back to the school was just so fun. It was freezing outside that night but we still had all the windows down and sticking out our heads and hands, waving at everyone. We were blaring our music, singing along to it. It was just a great time.”

Addie states that some of her proudest accomplishments have happened on the volleyball court.

“Just a couple weeks ago, I got my 1000 assists in volleyball. To me, this was a huge accomplishment because I had always dreamed of getting it since I was little. Another [achievement] would definitely be playing varsity volleyball all four years of high school. When I was little, I would tell my mom that I was going to play varsity all four years, and I'm just happy I could make that happen for her.”

In the future, Addison plans on going into the military and is graduating in December to get an early start. She chose to serve six years in the Army National Guard and hopes to become a combat medic. Bowman explains that she chose to go into the military to get her school paid for as well as having always been interested in it.

“I've always been interested in the military. I look up to those brave men and women, and a lot of them have inspired me. I also just feel like the Army has just really given me a purpose and has put me on a better path.”

After she serves in the military, Bowman plans to go to Indiana State University to major in nursing and eventually become a nurse practitioner.

Addie explains that her favorite part of high school has been making key friendships and memories. She states that without high school, she may not have made the friends that she has.

“High school is such an odd experience, and although I've disliked a lot of it, there have been several great memories that I will most likely never forget.”
