William “Buddy” Baker, age 92, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully at 5:20 am on Friday, November 3, 2023, at his residence. He was born in Worthington, IN on November 16, 1930, the son of John Clayton & Edna (Palmer) Baker.
He retired from Duke Energy as part of the traveling maintenance team. He loved going fishing, hunting, gardening, bird watching and mushroom hunting.
Buddy is survived by his daughters, Diana Warren and Anita (Rich) Stewart; son, Ronald (Emily) Baker; grandchildren, Shawn (Tami) Hayes, Jeremy (Adrienne) Hayes, Kaly (Derek) Wolfe, Ryan (Arin) Alabaugh, Mark (Kate) Baker and Terriann (Nathan) Hardison; several great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Evelyn Ernestine Baker; parents and siblings, Ossie Baker, Wilson Baker, Anna Duncan, John R. Baker, Raymond Baker, Wanda Hulett, Max Baker, Marguerite Smith and Bobby Baker.
Memorial service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, November 11, 2023 with Brother Matt Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Worthington Cemetery in Worthington.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service.
