NANCY ADELE NEVINS, Carbon, IN

Nancy Adele Nevins, 72, of Carbon, Indiana, passed away at Regional Hospital on January 24, 2024.

Nancy was born on November 28, 1951, in Brazil, Indiana, the daughter of Phillip and Nancy M. (Foxworthy) Short. She graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 1970 and attended Indiana State University. She married Rickie Lynn Nevins on April 3, 1971.

Nancy attended Fairview Christian Church for many years. She especially enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her family – especially her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents Phillip and Nancy Short.

Survivors include her husband Rickie Nevins; children: Shannon Nevins, Shelly Atkinson and husband D.J. and Douglas Nevins (Christy); grandchildren: Whitney Sampson (Ricky), Justin Sampson (Jasmine), Dalton Atkinson, Hunter Atkinson, Parker Atkinson, Cooper Atkinson, and Aubree Bastian; great-grandchildren: Avery Alcantar, Aria Hilderbrand, Alenna Parker, Atlas Parker, and Hendrix Atkinson; siblings: Toni Kohler and Lauren Short.

Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Services will be held at the funeral home, on Tuesday, at 11:00 PM with Brother Doug Parkey officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.
