The Brazil Alpha Omega Chapter of Tri Kappa is celebrating Tri Kappa week February 18-24, 2024. Tri Kappa is unique in that it is a philanthropic organization existing only within the state of Indiana. It was founded in 1901 by seven young ladies who attended the Girls Classical School of Indianapolis. Now more than 123 years later, Tri Kappa continues to bring women into close, unselfish relationships for the promotion of charity, culture and education. Each year the organization raises about $1.5 million dollars to give to college students, charities and cultural establishments. There are 12 provinces, 216 chapters and close to 8,000 members throughout the state of Indiana.

The Brazil Alpha Omega Chapter was installed on June 5, 1914. Throughout the years its members have strived to promote charity, culture and education in Clay County. The Alpha Omega Chapter gives back through fundraising and volunteerism. Some of the yearly fundraisers the Alpha Omega Chapter organize includes, their upcoming fashion show on March 16th at the Clay County Fairgrounds, working the Forest Park concession stand during the Brazil Concert Band, the Dueling Piano Keys for the Community Event and selling nuts just in time for the holidays. Money raised by the Chapter is then distributed back into the community for things such as college scholarships, reading books for every 2nd grader enrolled in Clay Community Schools, Power of the Community, Big Brother/Big Sisters, High School academic and sports teams, and community members in need. The Brazil Alpha Omega Chapter has been a strong beacon in this community for 110 years and the women look forward to growing and helping this community for many more centuries to come.
