BREAKING at DEADLINE - Traffic stop leads to pursuit and Warrant Arrest

Ingalls

Details about a traffic stop leading to a Monday morning pursuit are limited.

The Brazil Police Department confirms the incident began around 6 a.m. with a traffic stop. As the officer spoke to the driver, it was confirmed the individual was wanted on an active warrant for drug charges in May of 2023.

As the officer advised the driver of the warrant, the driver allegedly sped away, looped around Forest Park Elementary, and turned east, driving out of Brazil.

As the pursuit entered Putnam County, the vehicle was stopped again.

The female driver was taken into custody without further incident and transported back to the Clay County Justice Center to be remanded to the Jail Staff.

Jayme Lee Ingalls, 45, Poland, was incarcerated on the outstanding Putnam County felony warrant - Possession of Methamphetamine between 10 & 28 grams - and charged with a new charge of level six felony Resisting Law Enforcement.

While Ingalls remains incarcerated awaiting formal court proceedings, officials say the case is still being investigated for the possibility of other charges because Ingalls apparently “decided to flee the scene.”

NOTE: All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
