The Community Theatre of Clay County has something to sing about—all three showings of its most recent musical, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, sold out with nearly 400 patrons attending.

For over 40 years, the Community Theatre of Clay County has enriched lives and brought residents together.

"Community theatres are extremely important! Clay County is so fortunate to have one! Having access to the fine arts leads to higher graduation rates, more college graduations, more dollars being spent locally, and even lower crime rates! We are having a lot of fun, but we're part of something extremely important for our local society as well," explained Ashlee Vitz, marketing and community engagement for CTCC.

The theatre is always looking for new individuals, donations, or sponsors.

Visit www.thelarktheatre.com or by visiting their Facebook page at Community Theatre of Clay County, Inc.

"We are always looking for grants, and fully believe that our mission to provide "quality theatrical productions and educational opportunities for the community" is truly worth supporting. If you or someone you know is a funder, we would love to know of any available opportunities to apply."

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was a huge success, and CCTC hopes the next musical will be just as beloved. CCTC has already held auditions and has cast roles for their next musical, Meshuggah Nuns.

"Patrons will love Meshuggah-Nuns! It plays on May 3, 4, & 5. It's an uproarious musical comedy through Concord Musicals, and they describe it this way: A family has won the lottery and gifted the Sisters an all-expense paid trip on the "Faiths of All Nations" Cruise. After a week at sea, the ship runs into a storm. Several people become ill, including all of the actors in the ship's production of Fiddler on the Roof. (All except the actor playing Tevya, that is.) The captain of the ship, knowing of the Sisters' show-biz savvy, requests that the Sisters and Tevye put on a revue. And hilarity ensues!"

Vitz urges those interested in the feature to get their tickets before it's too late.

"Since Chitty Chitty Bang Bang sold out three weeks before opening night, we are encouraging patrons to get their tickets NOW for Meshuggah-Nuns!"

Vitz and the rest of the CTCC cast and crew want to thank the community for their outpouring of support.

"I would love to give the community a million thank-yous! We cannot do what we do without you! Without participants and patrons, we're just a building, but with all of you adding your own talents and skills, we are a community and a family. I also want to thank all of the businesses that support us by purchasing ad space and by sponsoring our shows, as well as all of the organizations that choose to fund us in any way. It takes money to do what we do, and it means the world to us that you find it important enough to invest in our contribution to the community."

On Tuesday, March 19, visit McDonald's located at 907 E National Ave, and CCTC will receive 15% of the profits.

"The McDonald's on Highway 40 in Brazil is sponsoring an event called McDonald's and Meet the Meshuggah-Nuns! From 4-7 pm there will be costumed characters that you can take pictures with, and McDonald's will give the theatre 15% of their profits from what was purchased during those hours! So we encourage people to come grab dinner and some fun pictures with us that evening! By then, our cast of Meshuggah-Nuns should be confirmed, so you will get to meet some of our actors from the final show of our 40th season as well!"
