Oberholtzer, Sinders step down from head coaching positions

Thursday, March 28, 2024

There will be new faces pacing the sidelines during the fall and winter for a pair of Clay City’s high school sports teams during the next school year as Bradi Oberholtzer stepped down from her position as head volleyball coach and Jason Sinders stepped down from his position as head girls basketball coach recently.

Oberholtzer led the Lady Eels volleyball program over the last two seasons, posting a 27-32 record. She helped guide Clay City to the sectional championship match during the 2022 season after defeating Dugger Union and Bloomfield in the opening round and semifinal before ultimately falling to White River Valley in the title tilt.

Sinders led the Lady Eels girls basketball program over the last six seasons, posting a 32-103 record, which included a nine-win campaign during 2023-24 – the best during his tenure. He helped guide Clay City to a trio of postseason wins – in 2019 against Eminence, in 2022 against Shakamak and in 2023 against White River Valley.

Both jobs are open and available on the Clay Community Schools website.
