Lawrence R. Trout, 88 of Brazil passed away April 1, 2024, at Town Parke Assisted Living. He had been a resident there for a short time. He was born on June 30, 1935, in Brazil, the son of Charles and Florence Howald Trout. He graduated from Staunton High School. He served in the US Army in 1958-59.

As a young man he began a career in carpentry and homebuilding. Later, that same interest led him to a business venture as Timberland was started with Sam Emmert.

On May 18, 1968, Larry was united in marriage to Sondra Temperly Trout. Together they enjoyed 52 years together. During these years Larry was a representative for Nichols Cabinets and began his career in real estate. He enjoyed his work and was always eager to complete a transaction. He made many friends throughout his working years. He met and became friends with the owner of the Family Table Restaurant. This friendship has lasted years, and through many meals. Larry enjoyed planting and tending to the flowers outside of the restaurant in years past and they have brought meals to Larry in this friendship.

Larry was a member of the Masonic Lodge #541 and the Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis. He was a member of the Realtors Association and was currently an associate with Hoosier Homes and Land.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Florence Trout; one brother, Carson Trout; his wife Sondra Trout passed away in 2020.

Survivors include step-daughter, DeAnn DeBoer and Jan Gambill of Terre Haute; sister Bertha Trout; nieces and nephews, Phyllis Emmert, Darlene Shepard, Jerry Shepard, Carl Trout (Kathy), David Trout (Roben); a first cousin, David Howald (Bev) who has been like a brother to Larry; and other extended family.

Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2:00pm with Dr. Quinton Madden officiating at Summit Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Lucky Pups Rescue, 3025 E.
