Monday, April 22, 2024

Megan Jackson is a senior at Clay City High School. She is involved in National Honors Society, SADD, and student council. She is also a member of the Clay City girls basketball and track and field teams. Outside of school, Megan is involved with her local youth group. She also has a part-time job at the Mayberry Malt and Coffee Shoppe.

One of Jackson's proudest accomplishments is tied to her performance in track and field. For a consecutive two years, Megan has advanced to the state competition for throwing discus. She also describes this as one of her favorite parts of high school.

“My favorite part in high school would have to be going to state for discus two years in a row.”

In the future, Megan plans to attend college and later become a social worker. Jackson states that she is going into this career field because of her love for children as well as her own childhood.

“I love kids and what them to have the best life possible, and because of my childhood is why I want to pursue this career path.”

When asked of any role models in her life, Megan names her mother as the person she looks up to.

“She is a very hardworking woman and doesn't stop working hard, even when obstacles are thrown in her way.”

Megan describes her mother's dedication and strength for her and her siblings.

“She is my hero, and I look up to her so much because she's been through so much and has never given up. She is the strongest person I know, and she has taught her kids how to be strong as well.”

At some point in her life, Megan would like to travel the world and see all different places.
