Old Age and Other Things
As I write my article this week a few more days of December 2023 remain.
The folks at the Brazil Times are moving my column to the Timeless section of the newspaper. I will be featured once each month going forward, beginning January 1, 2024. I hope you continue to read my column a while longer and more enjoy.
This writer has been extremely grateful for the opportunity to visit with you over two decades.
Paul continues to have mounting health problems, especially walking and with his speech.
Tootie Mae Sartor, our smart little canine(for age 15) is doing well. She will celebrate her birthday January 15. She has lost most of her sight and still has a school girl figure. Toot can jump so high and dance to the four paw -step. Best of all she is a happy keeper.
My old feet have been giving me trouble again.
In 2018, I had surgery on the right foot. A screw was inserted In my big toe and part of a hammertoe was removed. All summer and into the fall, foot problems mounted. My primary doctor sent me to a podiatrist, in Danville to seek help. The paper work stated bring a bag of the shoes you wear often. I took a bag filled with shoes.
During my youth there was a time I had a pair for outside work and a pair for school and church. He started pulling shoes out of the bag and pointed to that old well-worn red pair. Now some were costly and others are for certain purposes like yard work and hoarding.
I was sure my shiny heels were the best fit. It could be for sure my old red Dr Scholl’s would not make the grade. He gave a thumbs- up and the rest failed, though; the two pair were the same as the red one just black and blue.
He then brought out the sharp blades and proceeded shaving on the four calluses followed. The old foot doctor cut me two times.
I will ask for a new referral.
Happy New Year to everyone take care and keep safe and warm.
No Winter lasts forever,
No Spring skips its turn
April is a promise that
May is bound to keep
And we know it.
