By CAREY FOX Times Sports Editor PUTNAMVILLE -- If there ever were any doubts about the entertainment value at Lincoln Park Speedway, they were certainly alleviated on a Saturday night that had a little bit of everything. It took a review of the video as well as the scoring info to declare a sprint car winner as Russ Harper claimed the feature win after Bub Cummings was originally given the victory as both drivers finished within inches of each other...

'Silly' law needs to be reviewed (06/20/10)
To the Editor: On Saturday, June 12, my son put his beagle dog outside on a leash and of course, as most dogs do, she started to bark. Now this was 2 p.m., in the afternoon. The next thing he knows, the police are showing to give him a citation for the dog barking, and when he questioned the officer, he was told that a dog cannot be heard 25 yards, if it is then a citation could be issued, even if the dog is in the house and the dog starts barking and can be heard, he can get a citation...

Good people, good neighborhood (06/20/10)
To the Editor: I live on West Logan Street and there are a lot of very nice yards and people who live here also. City's decision is correct (06/20/10)
To the Editor: In early June, the Bloomington City Council voted to boycott Arizona because of its new immigration law that targeted anyone who looked "illegal." Until I saw the Bloomington chamber's June 10 gutless response to rescind the city council's call for the boycott of Arizona because of the e-mails from outsiders who said they would boycott Bloomington business, I thought, "How heroic and progressive Bloomington was to go against the red-necked tide of the majority who support Arizona's actions.". ...
