Home, and resting
I am happy my surgery is over, and my wound is on the mend. Following the biopsy earlier and diagnosis, the remaining carcinoma cells have been removed from my nose. The Mohs method was the procedure of choice.
I now have two fading black eyes and a surgical wound extending from the bridge down to my swollen cheek. I look like a chipmunk with a full-feed store in his temporary storage pouches.
There is no promise my problem will not resurface later. A few years earlier, I needed another sizable skin cancer removed from the left temple of my face that has not returned to date. Dr. Ally-Khan Somani said scaring would only be on the side of my nose and should not be as noticeable as if it were on top of my nose. That’s fine. I am not a fan of my mirror, anyway.
I will bring my wide-brimmed straw hats and best sunscreen off the shelf.
Working long hours in the sun is no longer in the picture. And more, at the age of 83, my heart and blood pressure has been added to the medicinal conversation.
I will tell you the pain of those needles(several) was painful, a real tear-tumbling experience.
They almost brought me off of the table. Both skinny fists felt the pressure, and my numb toes were stretched to the limits. This patient had a wee bit of trouble opening my eyelids.
I heard giggles coming from my doctors and nurses when it was over. That sure did soften my load and began to bring down my sky-high blood pressure. After a light conversation, it dropped
enough to be dismissed and sent home to fix Paul’s supper. Boy, that KFC sure was good.
Yes, it was on my bucket list…
Now I need to call it a day and get some much-needed rest. I am almost on my last leg.
