Students give back to pantry (11/22/12)
Van Buren Elementary's student council recently hosted a school-wide food drive from Nov. 12-16 to support the Harmony Church of the Living Christ who then gives the food to families in need. According to student council faculty leaders Derik Tipton and Anna Lorenze, each classroom competed to bring in the most food drive items. The class with the most items from kindergarten to second-grade and the class with the most items from third to fifth-grade were rewarded with a pizza party...
Historical Society to meet Dec. 3 (11/22/12)
The Clay County Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m., Dec. 3, in the lower level of the museum. The guest speaker will be Jim Albright, author of the book, "Last Guard Out."
