Brazil man in accident in Putnam County (08/02/12)
PUTNAM COUNTY -- On Wednesday, Indiana State Police and Putnam County emergency agencies responded to a one-vehicle rollover crash on westbound United States 40 near County Road 500 West. The accident took place at approximately 11:45 p.m. A preliminary investigation revealed a 2004 Mitsubishi driven by Rohn T. Smith, 23, Brazil, was westbound on U.S. 40, when he veered into the median, overcorrected and traveled into a wooded area on the north side of the roadway...
One dies following accident on SR 59 (08/02/12)
CLAY COUNTY -- A Rochester, Ind. man died in a car crash at the intersection of State Roads 42 and 59 in Brazil on Thursday. According to officials, the accident occurred at approximately 1:15 p.m. Officials said the driver of the SUV, heading south on SR 59, apparently disregarded the stop sign at the intersection of SR 59 and SR 42. His vehicle, a silver GMC Yukon SUV, collided with a semi-truck that was turning onto SR 59 N from SR 42 E. The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene...
Officials set park pool closing date for Aug. 13 (08/02/12)

Brazil Moose Lodge offering several events in August (08/02/12)
The Moose Lodge of Brazil is offering several events in the month of August and beyond for children and families in the area. On Aug. 18, the Moose Lodge will team up with the local sheriff and fire departments to offer a fun day for youth. The Sheriff's Department will offer fingerprint identification with children and the fire department will bring things to show and interest children.
